A Creative Canvas of Cool Critters.

This week I decided to invest time in the artwork. It was exciting to draw these sprites, and I plan on making more.

To summarize the picture, I made a new hero sprite, a tree monster thing, a crow/oversized black bird, a pea shooter weapon, a sketch of the signal beacon, and a silly and excessively bloody death scribble. I had a busy school week once again, but I think the artwork is still sizable progress, taking that into account. There is no new build yet, but eventually I’m gonna add the art to the game and, well, actually make progress on level designs.

Progress might be going slowly, but I have a lifetime to make it. I have no plans to drop the project at the moment. To my adversaries and you nemesissies, you will fall by my hands! …Just wait a couple years! ;_;

Wow, really nice improvement on the main character. Btw are you using a tablet? I’m thinking of getting one, which size tablet did you get?

Nope! I just use a keyboard and mouse! Usually I scribble a simple silhouette with a 2px brush or solid shape tool, and then carve away slightly with a 1px brush. Then I do the whole coloring/outlining, and shading part and polish and whatever. Keyboard hotkeys and shortcuts help out quite a bit, especially shift-click for line drawing whilst penciling. And I maintain more control over the mouse by just zooming in a large amount while pixeling in the details.

I can’t believe you wrote all those comments with a mouse. Btw one critic about the main character. His torso is too long and his leg are too short. It could be a style you are going for, it’s not like there is a law or something, but it will become a pain animating legs like that.

I like that little fireball. I want to see it animated.
